Summer Break
Dear Readers,
It is hard for me to believe that I have been writing for The Naturalist for over two years now. During that time I have written and shared hundreds of poems and dozens of prose pieces. I have started to grow a wonderful community of poem-and-nature-loving people. I have poured my heart into this work and could not be more proud of what I’ve created.
In many ways, writing for the Naturalist has made me a better and more productive writer. Unfortunately, the same constant pressure to write that has motivated me and made me better, also has a draining effect. I need to disrupt the creative routines that I have become comfortable in. To that end, I am suspending The Naturalist’s regular publications for the months of June-August of this year.
If you are a subscriber, you will not be charged during that time. If you pay yearly, those months will not count toward the year you’ve paid for. During this time you will still have full access to the archive. When I continue regular publication in September, you won’t have to do anything to resume your subscription.
During the summer months, I will be rereleasing some previous poems curated into poetry readings and some of the prose pieces — revisited in podcast form.
The Naturalist would not be possible without your support, so thank you from the bottom of my heart, now and always. I appreciate your understanding during this unusual time. I look forward to returning in the fall with a refreshed voice and many many more poems.
Be well,
Micah
